Product Review: Chobani - seriously YUMMY yoghurt!
I'm an Aussie girl - to the core - but I'm going to let you in on my dirty little secret....
I have a weakness for American culture.
I love American people (well, the one's I've met anyway!), American clothing, oh and American TV.... sitcoms are my guilty pleasure - from Seinfeld to GLEE and everything in between. And the West Wing... how I LOVE the West Wing. American politics are so much sexier than Julie, Kev and Little Johnny!
But now there's something new out of the USA that I have taken quite a liking to.
It's called Chobani.
It's the number one selling brand of yoghurt, much loved by those Yanks (and I use that term endearingly...promise!) and now launching in Australia!
Chobani sent me a bunch of their flavours to try out... as you can see, my fridge was overflowing! But after four days - it's almost gone! Between the kids and I, it didn't stand a chance. Here's why.
I love yoghurt... I could live off the stuff. But the Chobani range takes it to a whole new level.
It's incredible stuff. The thickest, creamiest yoghurt I have EVER tasted.
I almost felt guilty eating it - it's like a decadent desert... only it's actually really good for you!
Here's the nutrition profile:
* It's an authentic greek yoghurt, strained using a special process to create it's unique thick creaminess.
* It's a great source of calcium and contains double the protein of most other yoghurts
* It has five live cultures and three probiotics... so super good for your tummy ;)
* It's gluten free!
* Surprisingly it's also low or no fat. If you subscribe to the calories way of thinking, it's only about 136 calories per 170g serve and it's really filling - so leaves you feeling full for longer.
There are seven yummo flavours so far on the Australian market. Pineapple, Peach, Mango, Strawberry, Blueberry, Passionfruit and Vanilla. They were all seriously good - but I think my favourite was Mango ;) I'm a sucker for Mangoes!
At the moment they're imported but Chobani are actively seeking to begin production in Australia in the future.
Where can you get it?
Chobani is available now in Woolies stores across Australia at the RRP of $2.29 for the 170g tub. They're perfect snack size - easy to take to work and school.
And the other great thing?
Chobani gives back 10% of it's profits to Shepherds Gift...find you more here.
So try it out! You won't regret it - I am definitely a Chobani convert ;)
