It's my little sister's 30th this week.
Happy Birthday Kimberley Jo!
We were pretty cute huh?
I wanted to write something in dedication to my little sister... so I googled little sister quotes for a little inspiration. You wouldn't believe the amount of soppy crap that comes up! Don't get my wrong, I adore my sister - but soppy, mushy, lovey dovey crap just isn't really our thing ;)
But then I stumbled across this pearler.
"Sisters annoy, interfere, criticize. Indulge in monumental sulks, in huffs, in snide remarks. Borrow. Break. Monopolize the bathroom. Are always underfoot. But if catastrophe should strike, sisters are there. Defending you against all comers."
This couldn't describe us more perfectly if we tried. Kim and I are two VERY different people most of the time. We like different stuff, have different values, eat different foods... we're different. And that's what makes us each awesome ;) Having said that, we can both be freakishly similar when it comes to emulating our mother to our children - this bit makes me laugh ;)

We can argue better than anyone, disagree on almost everything, crack a good mirror/tooth/tanty (oh yes, you heard me!) and drive our parents crazy.
But when it comes down to it - we are ALWAYS there for each other. When I look back at times of crisis in my life over the last 13 years since I left home, Kim was always there. She would drop everything and show up and just BE my sister when I needed her most.
I LOVE my baby sister. And I am so proud of the woman she has become. I love her passion for her job that pays a pittance (Childcare workers in this country are seriously under-paid.). She is a fantastic wife (just ask her hubby!) and an amazing mum of two beautiful little one's (Aunty Steph isn't bias at all...noooo).
See!
She is creative, funny (most of the time), beautiful (damn her!... kidding!) and better with money than me. She snorts when she laughs too hard, rides a wakeboard like a champ, hiccups louder than anyone I know and eats chocolate til it's coming out her pores (and still manages to stay skinny - damn her again!). She's got the best legs, best hair and a beautiful smile. She's my sister ;)

So on this her 30th birthday eve I want to wish her a beautiful day tomorrow - with happiness, love and absolutely no middle child syndrome jokes whatsoever - I promise! hehe.. Here's a little song for you and here's hoping we get many more opportunities to dance in the rain together (and if we're lucky, with a few pina colada's thrown in!)
With lots of love.
